This is rabble.ca's staff blog. Visit this blog regularly for updates about rabble, and comments and observations from staff members, with occasional visits by board members and volunteers. Our staff blog is represented by our website "mascot" Ruckus, the sock monkey, who joined us in 2006. Ruckus cheers us on through fundraising campaigns and membership drives, and reminds us to keep perspective in the midst of the challenges of running an independent media website.

Book on over to rabble's table at Word On The Street this Sunday for a great book deal and prizes

| September 23, 2010

We love books!  Why else would we have built our own book lounge where we have original and reprinted reviews focusing on Canadian books, a book podcast, videos, excerpts, book events and more?

So it's no surprise that this Sunday, September 27th from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. you can book on over to Word on The Street in Toronto and find the rabble.ca table (MM#18).  We will be offering some some great deals all day.

We are selling the best of rabble 09 for just $2! Plus if you sign up for our free email newsletter you could win a free signed book. We are holding a draw every hour and have to give away:

Any Known Blood by Lawrence Hill
Blue Covenant: The Global Water Crises And The Coming Battle For The Right To Water by Maude Barlow
Cockroach by Rawi Hage
Grownup Digital by Don Tapscott

In the meantime head over to the book lounge ("bound but not gagged") for a new review on short stories by Ivan E. Coyote and a recent review of Phil Ryan's Multicultiphobia.

See you in the stacks and at Word on the Street!
