This is rabble.ca's staff blog. Visit this blog regularly for updates about rabble, and comments and observations from staff members, with occasional visits by board members and volunteers. Our staff blog is represented by our website "mascot" Ruckus, the sock monkey, who joined us in 2006. Ruckus cheers us on through fundraising campaigns and membership drives, and reminds us to keep perspective in the midst of the challenges of running an independent media website.

Voices rising in Canada: Get them heard, support rabble.ca

| June 10, 2011

Voices are rising in Canada, from Senate page Brigette DePape's "Stop Harper" protest, to postal workers striking for decent work, to unions and communities fighting back against the attacks on public service, to a freedom festival on the anniversary of the G20, to actions on the environment, child care and beyond, Canadians are standing up.

At rabble.ca we are proud to be reporting on all these actions and initiatives; every day we bring news for the rest of us, stories of inspiration and of struggle. The voices of these movements need to be heard and we need your help to make it happen. Please support our efforts and become a member of rabble right now. Your monthly donation of $5, $8, $15, $25 or $50 really makes a difference.

As a "thanks" for your membership donation of at least $60/year you can receive a free subscription to one of more than a dozen leading Canadian independent magazines. If you give at least $8/month we will also send you our new book Best of rabble.ca 2010.

Get your voice heard; support rabble.ca

Thank you!
