Why: "Michael Ignatieff's work as a public intellectual over the decades continues to impact discussion of the most important global issues," said Derrick O'Keefe, author of The Lesser Evil? "I think it's important to take a critical look at this long public career of a prominent Canadian," said O'Keefe.
The Lesser Evil? examines Ignatieff's career from the early 1980s through to the Liberals' catastrophic defeat in the 2011 election, arguing that Ignatieff's brand of liberalism has consistently endorsed neo-liberalism, war and empire.
