This is rabble.ca's staff blog. Visit this blog regularly for updates about rabble, and comments and observations from staff members, with occasional visits by board members and volunteers. Our staff blog is represented by our website "mascot" Ruckus, the sock monkey, who joined us in 2006. Ruckus cheers us on through fundraising campaigns and membership drives, and reminds us to keep perspective in the midst of the challenges of running an independent media website.

rabble supporters, shout it out!

| December 14, 2011

Hey rabble donation drive supporters, now is not the time to be bashful. We are very grateful to everyone that donates to rabble.ca to keep our non-profit, independent media site going.

And you should be proud too. We need you to brag, howl, and shout from rooftops that you contribute to independent media and that together, bit-by-bit, donation-by-donation, news for the rest of us can survive and thrive.

How do you spread the word? Why not a post on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Diaspora and other social networking sites encouraging people to join you in supporting rabble.ca's donation drive? You can also use this handy "tell a friend" form on rabble that does most of the work for you.

We're sure you have your reasons to support rabble but here are just a few reminders:

-  rabble.ca was the first media in Canada to have a section dedicated to #Occupy.

-  rabble.ca features exclusive coverage of Parliament by award-winning journalist Karl Nerenberg (Karl on Parl!).

-  rabble.ca has exclusive coverage and interviews with NDP leadership candidates.

-  rabble.ca is providing extensive coverage on a wide range of issues

-  Donors can win prizes! Our prizes include gift certificates of $250 to Henry's camera shop. Learn more about prizes here.

Thanks again to everyone that has joined in the donation drive so far. If you have been meaning to donate, why not right now? And after you do, please tell a friend.
