This is rabble.ca's staff blog. Visit this blog regularly for updates about rabble, and comments and observations from staff members, with occasional visits by board members and volunteers. While our website "mascot" Ruckus the sock monkey is on vacation, our staff blog is represented by this gorgeous ladybug, who is sporting the *rabble.ca* colours and reminds us that there are good, "beneficial" pests, like independent media who bug the right folks.

We're tapped into the Maple Spring: rabble.ca needs more members to keep the tap flowing, join today

Just as rabble.ca was the first media to have a special section dedicated to Occupy, we have been covering Quebec's Maple Spring from the early days. However, our "news for the rest of us," needs all of you. We are in the middle of our membership drive and we really need your support. Please join today.

If you check out other media (it's OK, we know you do) you likely have seen a lot of Maple Spring coverage that dismisses the students and provides little analysis around austerity measures. What did rabble do? We provide essential reporting, analysis, even event listings. Plus, we created a dedicated section to bring together our extensive coverage of the Quebec student strike and the wider popular movement, as well as other news about education and student issues, all in one place.

Our members help to fund this kind of important work. Without you there would be no rabble.ca and we thank all of our members and supporters. If you haven't joined up yet, it is an exciting time to be supporting independent media.

Also, when you become a member of rabble (starting at $5/month) you can select a great free print magazine subscription as our thanks. Check out the magazine choices here and note that this magazine offer ends midnight on July 6.

So please take a moment, support the movement media of rabble.ca. Thanks!
