Oversharing? No way, we’re just being transparent

Please chip in to support rabble's election 2019 coverage. Support rabble.ca today for as little as $1 per month!

At rabble.ca we aren’t required to publicly publish our annual report. No law or regulation says we need to share how we spent our budget. We do it because we believe in being transparent to our community of supporters. We are proud to have the support of people and organizations and we are proud of what we have done. You can find our annual reports (including for 2012) here

Our reports not only show you how we spent our budget, we also highlight the work we did and where we are going. We probably brag a little.

As the reports show, we have a tiny budget but we get a lot done.  We’d love to have more of a budget, especially money we can count on. This is where supporting memberships come in

When supporters give us $5 a month we know that we can count on those dollars and can better plan our stories and our work. When a lot of people do it, we can change the stories that get told and heard. Please become a supporting member today.  If you are already a supporting member, thank you so much. Please encourage others to join you (you can use this form), and if you are able, please add a dollar or two to your monthly.

As our thanks for your supporting membership you can receive a free print magazine subscription. You can pick from great titles like Canadian Dimension, Our TimesAdbusters, and The New Internationalist. If you give at least $8/month we will also send you Best of rabble.ca, 2013 edition.

Thank you to all supporters who keep rabble alive.

Thank you for reading this story…

More people are reading rabble.ca than ever and unlike many news organizations, we have never put up a paywall – at rabble we’ve always believed in making our reporting and analysis free to all, while striving to make it sustainable as well. Media isn’t free to produce. rabble’s total budget is likely less than what big corporate media spend on photocopying (we kid you not!) and we do not have any major foundation, sponsor or angel investor. Our main supporters are people and organizations -- like you. This is why we need your help. You are what keep us sustainable.

rabble.ca has staked its existence on you. We live or die on community support -- your support! We get hundreds of thousands of visitors and we believe in them. We believe in you. We believe people will put in what they can for the greater good. We call that sustainable.

So what is the easy answer for us? Depend on a community of visitors who care passionately about media that amplifies the voices of people struggling for change and justice. It really is that simple. When the people who visit rabble care enough to contribute a bit then it works for everyone.

And so we’re asking you if you could make a donation, right now, to help us carry forward on our mission. Make a donation today.
