Election fatigue? We have the cure! (and no, it's not more Mike Duffy!)

Become an independent media reporter supporter!

While the media elites try their hardest to ignore, suppress, and counter progressive ideas in this election you can count on rabble to call them out. We won't let Big Media gerrymander the issues. rabble.ca has the cure for your election fatigue... and don't worry it doesn't involve more Mike Duffy.

The mainstream media's framing of the election seems to be settled. They want the election to be about so called good economic stewardship -- only in the narrowest possible sense. They want you to ignore the interdependence of the economy and immigration, First Nations issues, the environment, government decision-making, and more. Big Media's pity party for the economy must end -- if only to halt the distraction from the government's broader assaults on democracy, civil liberties, and so much more.

rabble.ca is community-supported media, and we rely on our readers to support our annual summer fundraisers. But in an election year, we need each and every reader's support. No amount is too little (or too much).  Whether you can chip in $3 or $300 -- please take a moment to support this year's fundraiser.

rabble can only continue to exist through the generosity of like-minded donors. Your donation is the price of media democracy. Our annual fundraiser is coming to a close and we are still short on funds. With your support rabble will keep the issues that matter to you on the radar. We'll keep reporting on Black Lives Matter, Indigenous issues, and other activism that corporate media just can't be bothered with.

...and in the spirit of election season, we lied. Here's the latest on Mike Duffy.

In solidarity,
the rabble.ca staff collective

Thank you for reading this story...

More people are reading rabble.ca than ever and unlike many news organizations, we have never put up a paywall – at rabble we’ve always believed in making our reporting and analysis free to all. But media isn’t free to produce. rabble’s total budget is likely less than what big corporate media spend on photocopying (we kid you not!) and we do not have any major foundation, sponsor or angel investor. Our only supporters are people and organizations -- like you. This is why we need your help.

If everyone who visits rabble and likes it chipped in a couple of dollars per month, our future would be much more secure and we could do much more: like the things our readers tell us they want to see more of: more staff reporters and more work to complete the upgrade of our website.

We’re asking if you could make a donation, right now, to set rabble on solid footing.
