Memorial march for missing and murdered aboriginal women

February 14 1991 was the first march for missing and murdered aboriginal women. In January 1991 a Coast Salish woman was murdered in Vancouver's downtown eastside. In response, activists began to organize the memorial march to fight against the systemic under investigating in the deaths of indigenous women. The march has been running for 21 years in Vancouver and is now observed across the country.

February 4, 2012 is the first international day of solidarity with Leonard Peltier. After decades wasted in prison, charged with a crime that has no evidence, Peltier's supporters are once again appealing to the United States government to set him free.

What: Tracking the Tar Sands: A Tri-City Youth Tour—An educational youth tour to Sarnia, Detroit and Windsor that highlights global warming, water depletion, land degradation, energy insecurity, Aboriginal injustices and social damages from tar sands development. You will have the opportunity to meet with community leaders and youth from across Canada and Detroit who are ready to make a difference now and for the future.

When: August 20 to 22, 2009

Where: Starting in Toronto on August 20th and traveling to Sarnia, Detroit and Windsor. Returning to Toronto the evening of August 22.
