Public broadcasting, public media and the CBC

Last weekend, Peter Mansbridge opened the lid on Kony 2012, the viral video about child soldiers in Uganda, and quickly closed it. CBC news' voice of authority asked his guest, another iconic Canadian, Stephen Lewis, authoritative voice of our humanity you might say: "What's the take-away on this?" As if: Enough chit-chat, Stephen. Let's nail down its significance and move on.

Mansbridge lives in a world of take-aways: definitive judgments that acknowledged authorities like he and Stephen Lewis get to make, leaving others to humbly accept or grind their teeth while spitting some lonely demurs.

I am not watching CBC's election coverage anymore - The CBC Doesn't Seem to Know the NDP is the Official Opposition Now

Well, it isn't the electio anymore but the CBC is still up to its ususal tricks.

There was a story on the rising price of gas. Who did they quote, Dan McTeague. Wait a minute. Didn't he lose? Oh, did the NDP hold a Press Conference in response to this? Nope, it wasn't on the CBC news, so it couldn't have happened. And, who wants to be the "CBC Official Leader of the Oppostion"? Why, its Rocket Man, Marc Garneau.

What's on CTV? Well a lot less "Liberal Talk", and what's this, a story about a Wikilieaks, "leak", that says the US doesn't take Harper seriously on Artic Soverignty?

I mean, we New Dems protected the CBC for years. I know I am probably beating a dead horse here and if no one comments, I understand that. But, man this makes me so damn mad!
