Malkan is author of the award-winning new book, Not Just a Pretty Face: The Ugly Side of the Beauty Industry. The book looks at the vital industry changes instigated in the short history of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics (CSC).

The CSC is a coalition of US and international groups demanding that manufacturers of personal care products stop using cancer-causing, hormone and endocrine-disrupting chemicals.

While she is in Montreal, Malkan will speak to about 300 students and parents at the Girls for the Cure Educational Forum and with 400 students at Westmount High School about the way the cosmetics industry markets self-image with their products.
