Police aggression at Tamil protest caught on tape

A massive protest against the Sri Lankan army for its assault on the Tamil minority took place in Toronto, shutting down the Queen Elizabeth Way highway, a major traffic artery for the city. Protesters (which included many non-Tamil supporters) said they were marching in opposition to the "2000 plus Tamils killed Saturday night and Sunday morning by the Sri Lankan Armed Forces."

All eyes on rabbletv’s new Flip camera correspondent

Last month, rabble.ca launched a contest giving entrants the chance to win a Flip camcorder and become a rabbletv correspondent. We asked contestants to send in a 30-second video telling us why they should be the next rabble video correspondent.

We’re pleased to announce that Mike Yam, a Masters student at York University in the faculty of Environmental Studies, has won the contest.
