Hamilton Fundraiser to Defend Free Speech Against Harper July 4
HELP THE CANADIAN ARAB FEDERATION FIGHT FOR FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION FOR ALL CANADIANS!
Just days after the Canadian Arab Federation (CAF) criticized the Canadian government for its one-sided support of Israel's violent incursion in Gaza, the Harper government cut off all federal English-as-a-second language (ESL) funding to CAF. That ESL funding was utilized on behalf of new Canadians of many ethnic origins, not just Arab-Canadians. CAF took legal action against the federal government and is conducting a cross-Canada, fund-raising campaign to cover its legal costs.

Echoes of Israel in the graveyard of broken dreams

Undoubtedly, Mr. Galloway would have given offence in Canada, because he always does. His pro-Palestinian views would have offended some. His participation in a "Viva Palestina" convoy of aid delivered to the elected government of Gaza - that is, Hamas - had already riled a number of people. And that is the real reason the Harper government didn't want him in Canada: He supports Hamas.
