Cowbird is an audio-video diary tool that enables users to create and store an audio-visual diary of their life, as well as collaborate with others in the storytelling process. By documenting the simple human stories behind major news events, Cowbird aims to pioneer a new approach to participatory journalism.
Systemchange.ca
The 'System Change not Climate Change' project is an initiative of the Council of Canadians. The project's aim is to raise awareness of the climate crisis facing global society. The hope is that this educational initiative will inspire collective action on behalf of climate justice.
In particular, the project's website -- systemchange.ca -- will serve as a tool for climate justice. Upon the project's formal launch in September 2011, systemchange.ca will house videos, event templates, suggested playlists, teach-in resources, and action toolkits.
Alive with Breath

Alive with Breath is a multi-media installation piece that speaks to the beauty of life prior to Canadian residential school experience. Inspired by Jules Koostachin's mother Rita, the project focuses on five survivors from the James Bay area through photography, audio recordings and video.
VanChange Camp

VanChange Camp is a participatory, web-enabled event to imagine and build new ways to collaborate for social change in the digital age.
It is meant to explore the following questions:
- How can we help government become more open and responsive?
- How do we as citizens organize to get better outcomes ourselves?
VanChangeCamp addresses the demand for a renewed relationship among citizens and government. We seek to create connections, knowledge, tools and policies that drive transparency, civic engagement and democratic empowerment.
Multimedia Event for International Resistance to Gold Mining
Location
A multimedia presentation by several international experts on the experience of indigenous communities who are resisting the world's largest gold mine, Barrick Gold.
Documentary film makers, photo journalists, and activists that have worked in Norway, Phillipines, Tanzania, Argentina and Chile will showcase new art and speak about critical issues in the regions.
A local indigenous speaker will also discuss the effects of local mining on the indigenous community in Canada.
There are many health hazzards and human rights violations associated with gold mining, this event will address such concerns.
