British composer Jonathan Harvey is renowned for the beauty, imagination and variety of his choral works. In his first visit to Toronto, we present his most stunning works in the debut performance of Soundstreams' own Choir 21 under the direction of David Fallis, music director of Opera Atelier and the Toronto Consort. This ecstatic program takes its inspiration from many sources including e.e. cummings, Christianity, Buddhism, Sanskrit, and Medieval Mysticism. It features music by John Tavener, Palestrina and Canadian composer Gilles Tremblay, whose ethereal L'espace du coeur is on e of the most powerful spiritual works in Canadian repertoire.
