Sinfonia Toronto's 2009/2010 Masterpiece Series continues, highlighting romantic pianism at its best. This concert features Toronto's own piano virtuoso Yuval Fichman.
Yuval Fichman made his debut with the Montreal Symphony and the Toronto Symphony in 1982, and has continued to appear as a guest soloist with orchestras throughout Canada and the US, and performed with the MSO on its 1984 European tour and with the Vancouver Symphony on its 1985 Japanese tour. He has also performed for several film soundtracks including Don McKellar's "Last Night" (music by Oscar winning composer Howard Shore), Francois Girard's 32 Short Films About Glenn Gould and Larry Weinstein's Beethoven's Hair. In addition, Yuval has recorded a CD with cellist Yo-Yo Ma for Kabuki artist Tamasaburo Bando.

Sinfonia Toronto’s 2009/2010 Masterpiece Series continues November 13th at 8:00pm as an Italian virtuoso returns. This concert features the amazing pianist Antonio Di Cristofano.
Antonio Di Cristofano has performed as a soloist with many of the most important orchestras in Italy, as well as several others in Europe and the USA. His critically acclaimed debut CD of recordings of Schubert’s piano works was recently followed up with a CD of Brahms, Berg and Scriabin. “Scriabin’s hothouse exoticism and highly coloured harmony found an excellent exponent,” remarked one London reviewer after a recent performance. The Daily Advertiser of Lafayette announced, “Di Cristofano is a pianist of monumental proportion.”
Canada’s violin sensation kicks-off a new season for Sinfonia Toronto’s Masterpiece Series of concerts October 23rd at 8:00pm. Their 11th year marks their return to Glenn Gould Studio (250 Front St. W), and begins with a concert featuring none other than the amazing Lara St. John.
