Sasha: STD fears and unionizing strip clubs

Dear Sasha,

I am 40, have been divorced for a few years and, apart from a LDR with a boy who is 25 that ended a year ago, have been very skittish about entering the dating world. I have zero interest in having a serious boyfriend, but as soon as I start thinking about one-night stands or FWB, all I can think about is how guys are walking disease factories who can't be trusted to tell the truth about being disease-free, and I chicken out of trying to mack on anyone.

As a result, I've had zero action for a year and a half.

Creating a student union is as tough as organizing in any other workplace. It also presents unique challenges. Building solidarity amongst students who come from all walks of life can be difficult. The size of the school can also be intimidating. How do you reach and unite all those people? It is possible.

Unions are more than student adovacy.They create service centres for specific student needs, rally against the adminstration and return power to the studnets. Whereas univerities and colleges have an easy time exploiting or oppressing individuals, students can make a difference if they band together. Small business and the attack on unions

In case you had any doubts where the escalating attack on Canadian unions is coming from, check out the website of the Canadian Labour Watch Association.

The Labour Watch site provides detailed information and advice to individual workers and employers on how to fight unionization drives and how to decertify existing unions, including by providing a list of legal firms. It strongly opposes compulsory union dues and use of union dues for political purposes. The site promotes legal provisions which make it more difficult for unions to organize.
