Below is a sneak peak of what to expect at the 2011 Radical History Conference in Windsor. Join fellow workers in exploring past stories of revolt, stories of genocide, stories of community solidarity, stories of liberation and stories from a decaying world of corporate hegemony. Heck, we got more incendiary stories than an Ottawa RBC branch. They don't teach this stuff in school boys and girls!

Cyber-scabbing? Lessons for labour from the Windsor CUPE strike

Negotiations were scheduled to resume on Thursday, July 9, between Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 82 (outside workers) and Local 543 (inside workers) and the City of Windsor. Local 82 has been on strike since April 15. Local 543 joined the picket lines a few days later.

The strike continued much longer than anyone on either side anticipated and has been exacerbated by charges filed by CUPE with the Ontario Labour Relations Board alleging bad faith bargaining on the part of the City in relation to a media-leak that occurred in mid-June.
