I appreciate Dr. Dennis Pilon criticizing the process.  I think that rather than putting the funds towards two polarized campaigns, instead put the funds towards education about the various electoral systems.  How would do they actually work?

I think that we would be better served by being asked 2 questions in a referendum:

     1.  Do you want Electoral Reform in BC?

No. I want to continue using FPP.

Yes. I want to choose the electoral system for BC. (see the next question)

     2. Which electoral system do you want to use in BC?

          BC-STV. Single Transferable Vote.

          MMP. Mixed Member Proportional Representation.

The Citizens Assembly decided for us what the electoral system may be.  I've been listening to MP3s of the Citizens Assembly from five years ago.

The Citizens' Assembly holds a debate on which system is the best alternative system for British Columbia, MMP or STV.

After a short concluding debate, the Assembly casts ballots on their system preferences, resulting in 80% support for STV (123 votes for STV, 31 votes for MMP).
