Ben - Thank you for posting this. At present I am in Chachapoyas approximately 3 hours from Bagua. Estimates here place the number of those killed at approximately 200 which includes children as young as 4 who were killed when Garcia´s forces opened fire from the helicopter.
Here, the community in partnership with the Municipality has been collecting donations of water, medical supplies and blood donations since yesterday which went out to Bagua this morning. A vigil was held from 8pm last night and continues this morning. Demonstrations also continue today as raised voices in solidarity with those in Bagua echo outside the internet cafe from where I am passing on this note.
