babble is rabble.ca's discussion board but it's much more than that: it's an online community for folks who just won't shut up. It's a place to tell each other — and the world — what's up with our work and campaigns.

Goerge Victor:

But, what WOULD you call those people promoting coal as "green"?  Have you run out of epithets when denouncing the champions of change?   Is it the attack on your lifestyle or assumed freedoms that brings out the challenge to their ancestry? :D

I only need one epithet when the 'champions of change' are self-interested opportunists. Whether profiting from celebrity or from influencing policy for profit. The challenge to their ancestry has nothing to do with my lifestyle or 'assumed freedoms' but with the hypocracy inherent in the opportunists' creed that everyone must sacrifice to the climate change gods except important individuals such as themselves. In my lifestyle, I'm already sacrificing while these numpties swann about the globe telling others what to do. In other news, the East Anglia gurus are outed via whistleblower(s) as admitting that climate hasn't changed for seven years - it has cooled. More numpties.

Sure like to see some venom directed at those who manipulate us (lie) to promote growth of production and consumption. You could beat up on the green advocates AFTER you have subdued the real enemies of our descendants, for instance, re-prioritize. At the moment, your scope is trained on your own ass.

Look, George! A full-fledged denier right here on babble. Imagine he confuses whistleblowers, ethical people who risk their careers to do the right thing, with common thieves paid by the denial lobby. But on the subject of criminals, liars, and email, Nature has waded in:

Quote:

If there are benefits to the e-mail theft, one is to highlight yet again the harassment that denialists inflict on some climate-change researchers, often in the form of endless, time-consuming demands for information under the US and UK Freedom of Information Acts. Governments and institutions need to provide tangible assistance for researchers facing such a burden.
