Dobbin makes some good points, but why does he ignore Canada's leadership (one could say, paradigm-shifting) role in the overthrow of Haiti's democratically elected government in 2004 (even though he mentions Latin America and the Caribbean)? This was brutal and resulted in thousands of deaths caried out by the coup regime with the complicity of Canadian-led UN occupation forces.
