British Woman Arrested in Dubai after being raped

It's interesting. Clearly this is wrong. What happened to her and her fiance was wrong.
But the thread title, and the title of the article is misleading - it makes it look like the woman was being arrested for the intercourse that occured during her rape, which she wasn't. She was arrested for illegal drinking, and for illegal sexual intercourse with her fiance.
Of course, that isn't really any better.
"She was trying to report the rape but soon realised the policemen were more interested in how often she has sex with her boyfriend."
What happened is horrible. You report being raped only to be charged with having sex with your boyfriend? Jebus!
I don't suppose the police much had the option - having sex with her boyfriend is against the law there and she confessed it.
Then clearly rape is acceptable and sex with your partner isn't. Police always have options.
