babble is rabble.ca's discussion board but it's much more than that: it's an online community for folks who just won't shut up. It's a place to tell each other — and the world — what's up with our work and campaigns.
There is community here, thanks. One of quiet concern for fellow babblers - contrary to the impression left by sometimes gladiatorial scenes. That's what makes this space kind of unique, eh?
Is that "I'm Tired of Being Admired" that Ms. Kahn is singing? (clicking on the link would interrupt the Bach I have playing on the computer right now)
I remember that song as being from The Last Remake of Beau Geste, but that was way back in the 70s, so my memory may be wrong.

I sometimes find that small things work for me when I'm tired. Some boom box music and exercise make everything work better. It's said that your mind and body are connected in ways that aren't fully understood. Excercise scientists will tell us that our bodies were designed to be in motion. I really believe that.
and I don't understand the communications here, except as they relate to external events.
which is fine, but babble isn't a community, for me anyway.
I can appreciate that the space here is a space, which leaves opportunity.
external games are bizarre and disturbing.

I don't know whether you'll get a kick out of this, thanks, but I always do. It's Madeline Kahn singing "I'm Tired" from Blazing Saddles.
it's irritating to have jokes thrown around while equity issues are ignored.
same with paternalism.

Ok -- I'm sorry, thanks, if I put a foot wrong. Maybe I haven't followed what you write closely enough to know what your equity issues are.
Gladiatorial, what an excellent word.
see thread on 'babbling impossible'.
Why?
I AM tired

exercise makes everything work better
without overdoing it
gyms leave my respiratory system infected. i wish there were a better way in the winter.
Same here, jm; I do lots of walking, even in winter.
Sometimes overdoing exercise can be therapeutic, depending; it can be an outlet for stress IMV.
