Well Pensive, it's good to hear from someone who doesn't identify with a "left" or "right". I think I can agree with you on that. Personally, I don't look at an issue and decide how I feel based on what Naomi Klien [sic] or Glen [sic] Beck have to say, but on what I believe are accurate facts and my own experiences.
Here we have an example of a person who thinks that identifying as "left" or "right" means not thinking for oneself.
People like this, who fancy themselves as being in the "centre-ground", regard everyone else who disagrees with them as "extremists". They also suffer from the delusion that they themselves lack ideological biases; this convenient delusion allows them to ignore their own inconsistency and hypocrisy and pretend to be blessed with a fair and balanced mindset.
It's what I like to call the Toronto Star syndrome.
