Astonishing was that Lieberman, hitting back at the article that supposedly defamed his country, opted not to attack the story or its author but to defame the entire nation of Sweden, and all for its refusal to follow the foreign minister off a cliff of international humiliation. 

"It is a shame that the Swedish Foreign Ministry is not getting involved when a blood libel against Jews is at hand," he said in a statement emailed to every journalist working in Israel. "This recalls the Swedish position during World War II – then, too, they didn't get involved."

While the article in question, which has yet to be taken seriously by anyone outside of Benjamin Netanyahu's government, could easily be interpreted as defamatory to Israel's military, Lieberman's reaction to its accusations could not be interpreted as anything less than an attack on Sweden, in general, as a nation of Nazis yesterday and cowards today.

I would think that most Canadians want a government that they can trust.  This one cannot be trusted at all, as they keep proving over and over again.  Framed in that context, it's one step to disloging this facist regime. 

Maybe not a complete solution, but a small step in that direction.

I would venture to say that most Canadians don't give a shit about Israel.  Maybe its time to ask why is our government so obsessed defending this apartheid/terrorist/war criminal state on the other side of the world. Why, why, why?

It makes for an interesting debate and it could make for a very interesting election.

Fascist is a little extreme for the Conservative government. Fascists-in-waiting is the correct term. Without a majority, Harper has all these pesky laws and such impeding him. He can't suspend the constitution for our own benefit just yet, the best he can do is impede the flow of information and stonewall any criticism.
