An advance draft of the Friends of Syria plan calls for al-Assad to agree to an immediate cease-fire or face a "yet-to-be mentioned response" from the "world community." It recognizes the Syrian National Council as a "credible representative of the Syrian people."
In January, Haitham Maleh, a founding member of the executive committee of the Syrian National Council, called for murdering Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, his British wife and three children.
Imagine political opposition leaders in Britain or the USSA calling for the sodomization and murder of government leaders and their families. And then imagine that foreign governments are funding and arming their militant wings and fomenting civil war in America and U.K. There would be hell to pay as a result.
Yeah but stuff like that only works if the population of a country will support groups like that or be indifferent to them because they are not happy with the current government to the point of not caring what happens to it.

I think that Qatari imperialists could fund a poll on Syrian opinions commissioned by the Doha debates and publish results showing 55% of Syrians support Assad - and the results simply would not matter as far as our lapdog newz media is concerned. Toadies in corporate sponsored news media, and whether knowingly or not, are violating international law since Nuremberg by broadcasting war propaganda. Because they know which side their bread is buttered on is no excuse. They should be arraigned on charges of war crimes and prosecuted.

In this rush to support the foreign armed activists (maybe we should ask for foreign arms next time we take to the streets like during the G20...), do any of these foreign policy experts stop to examine what a FAILURE Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya are? There is nothing humanitarian in these rushes to topple over regimes the US/Israel/NATO nations dislike for mostly economic reasons.

That's good but how does that equate to real boots on the ground doing the fighting?

What does this have to do with the fact that most Syrians support Assad and want to avoid sectarian violence and civil war, or the same sword operations used by Gladio gangsters in destroying Libya? Theyre even using the same Al-Qa'eda commander of Tripoli to lead the "Free Syrian Army" It's looking more and more like the Sword Gang murdered thousands of Americans on 9/11.

Allot. If most Syrians support Assad how can a hand full of outsiders defeat him right in front of his supporters and his army? Given how big the Syrian army is I would say if what you say is true Assad is safe from any outside overthrow attempt.
Of course that doesn't explain why his military is shooting artillery into cities (if you believe that); but hey I'm not going to ask you a question like that... you'd probably say that's irrelevant.

Leaders of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas turned publicly against their long-time ally President Bashar al-Assad of Syria on Friday, endorsing the revolt aimed at overthrowing his dynastic rule.

You're prolly right. Al-CIA'duh will likely require the services of the luftwaffe. Just like they needed in creating AlCIA'duh in the Maghreb.
Never forget.
Even that woun't help. Syria has one of the most advanced air defense systems in the Middle East... it will not be like Libya.
I'm guessing the Gladio gang will lean on their al-Qa'eda allies. Zawahiri and his brothers did a fine job for NATO, the CIA and their KLA buddies in Kosovo. And the CIA has reported that Zawahiri was behind the recent terrorist attacks in Alleppo, Syria. The ICRC are even back in the groove demanding a ceasefire, like the good old days in South-East Asia when the Red Cross insisted on supplying food aid to the Thai army who, in turn, were actively supporting the Khmer Rouge. I'm sure Qaeda wing of the CIA would love for them to bomb Syria from the air, like the doctor and the madman did in paving the way for the KR to takeover Cambodia in the 1970s. But I think Balkanization is on order in this case.
Khmer Rouge, Al-Qa'eda, what's the diff, eh, Bec? The Gladio Gang has allied themselves with and supported the scum of the earth over the years. Some things never change.

The intercession is to be modeled after NATO's efforts in Kosovo, which brought an end to the Serbian control of the region..."
Calling for a foreign intervention serves the Assad regime, betrays the revolutionary cause, and threatens Syria with disintegration. What is required is not to destroy Syria, but to destroy the regime and let Syria rise from the ashes, according to the wish of her people, who long for a democratic Arabic homeland.
Is the crisis in Syria heading down the path of the Libyan scenario? And to what extent are the regime's stubbornness and bloodiness preparing to open the door to a foreign armed intervention, which would transform the Syrian revolution into a tragedy that would threaten the very survival of the Syrian state?
The danger is present, though not very likely, as Syria lacks petrol - the booty that attracted Western greed as in the case of Libya, and Iraq before.
America and its satellites act in a very pragmatic way. They are not concerned about tens of thousands of people injured or martyred. They may even prefer the situation as it is: the Arab Syrian army worn out in a bloody war against the people. And the Syrian regime challenged and undermined, but not overthrown, because the West does not know exactly where Syria would be going after Bashar. They don't trust Burhan Ghalioun's pledges of peace with Israel, which explains why Washington and other Western regimes hesitate to officially recognise Ghalioun's opposition Syrian National Council.
That Council on one hand includes the Muslim Brotherhood, one of the main sectors of the opposition, but on the other hand most of its other members have dubious identities and backgrounds, are close to intelligence circles - including the Syrian secret services - or simply opportunists, seekers of illegitimate fortunes as money is flowing in from the Gulf states. There are a few others who stand for the Damascus Declaration and are not tempted to collaborate with Washington. And then there is a constant appearance and disappearance of Syrian groups who claim to represent the revolution and sell Syrian blood like a merchant who sells wares who are not his own, but eagerly accepts cash advances.
These are the people who keep begging for a foreign military intervention, for establishing and securing no-fly zones, pretending to protect civilians and to stop the bloodshed, though in fact any foreign military intervention means more bloodshed and the destruction of Syria, of the land and the people, and a transformation of the revolution into an open civil war.
General Jack D. Ripper says it's premature even to 'talk about arming' our new best friends forever, Al-Qa'eda. And so that must mean the American CIA and taxpayers have been arming them all along on the QT and hush-hush. Say no more, General Ripper. We hear ya.

John Baird Voices Concern for Syrian Religious Minorities
"...speaking in Ottawa on Friday, the commander of all US Forces in the Middle East and Central Asia, General James Mattis, confirmed the complicated situation facing the international community in sorting things out in Syria. 'It's a very, very complex situation and I think the longer it drags on, the more apt we are to see extremists try to take advantage,' he said. 'The opposition is not united...and I cannot tell you with clarity who all makes up the opposition or its leadership."
Writing in the Israeli paper Haaretz, Zvi Bar’el writes that Washington and Tel Aviv do not wish the precipitous departure of al-Assad. “He is seen as a safety valve against a violent attack by Hezbollah on Israel or against its physical takeover of Lebanon. He has also made known his disagreements with Iran following the controversial visit of Ahmadinejad to Lebanon [in 2010].” One member of the Israeli cabinet told the Washington Post, “We know Assad. We knew his father. Of course, we’d love to have a democratic Syria as our neighbor. But do I think that’s going to happen? No.”
The US and Israel are currently hiding behind the Russians (and to some extent the Chinese) in the UN Security Council. None of them have any interest in the removal of al-Assad from power. To their minds, Syria should not have a Libyan solution but a Yemeni one: the violence will simmer, the opposition will tire, then al-Assad will be allowed to create a successor in name only who will retain the lineaments of the regime intact but will provide a new face for Syria. Just as the “new” Yemen cannot be allowed to be a threat to Saudi Arabia, the “new” Syria cannot be allowed to upset the Israeli applecart.
"...There appears to be a difference between the position of Israel's military leadership and its political leadership. The military seems to prefer the survival of the Assad regime, primarily for fear of the alternatives and of the spreading of arms and chaos, which could inconvenience and even harm Israel.
On the other hand, politicians want the regime to fall as this would weaken what they describe as the 'axis of extremism' in the region, especially Iran and Hizbullah.."
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has acknowledged that Al Qaeda and other organizations on the US "terror list" are supporting the Syrian opposition.
Clinton said: "We have a very dangerous set of actors in the region, al-Qaida [sic], Hamas, and those who are on our terrorist list, to be sure, supporting - claiming to support the opposition [in Syria]." [1] (Click here to watch video)
Yet at the same time, in the above BBC interview the US Secretary of State repeats the threadbare Western claim that the situation in Syria is one of a defenceless population coming under "relentless attack" from Syrian government forces.
There is ample evidence that teams of snipers who have been killing civilians over the past year in Syria belong to the terrorist formations to which Clinton is referring to.
"On Tuesday, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton testified before a Senate subcommittee on the State Departments budget. Pressured by Senator Lindsay Graham (R-SC) into answering whether she thinks Syrian President Bashar Al Assad fits the definition of a war criminal, Clinton said: 'Based on definitions of war criminal and crimes against humanity, there would be an argument to be made that he would fit into that category."
"Armed groups in Syria have admitted that they have received weapons from the US and France. A defected military officer, who refused to be named, told reporters in the western Syrian city of Al Qusayr on Tuesday that armed troops receive 'French and American assistance.'
The 4th Armoured Division commanded by Maher al-Assad, the president's younger brother, has a reputation for ruthlessness burnished during the past year of revolt and forged in history.
Drawn from the Alawite sect to which the Assads belong, it is hated by many in the Sunni majority who recall the role its predecessor units played in massacring many thousands of Sunni Islamists at Hama in 1982 on the orders of Assad's father Hafez.
Hopefully Assad can squash the rebellion before NATO gets its excuse to move. This should be a rather quick one sided fight..
Perhaps someone made them an offer they couldn't refuse? Never fear all will become clear...
