babble is rabble.ca's discussion board but it's much more than that: it's an online community for folks who just won't shut up. It's a place to tell each other — and the world — what's up with our work and campaigns.
In an interview airing Saturday on CBC Radio's The House, MP Dean Del Mastro was asked point blank if Sona was involved, and said "we don't know that."
Del Mastro again denied accusations from opposition parties that his party engaged in a voter suppression campaign, but told host Evan Solomon it appears that "what went wrong in Guelph was in fact untoward, it was intentional."
"The allegations of what happened there [in Guelph] are serious. There seems to be an awful lot of evidence that people received these misleading calls," said Del Mastro.
"We don't know what happened in Guelph. We don't have any information about what happened in Guelph. But what we can say is that the allegations that have come forward and the evidence that we've seen which is all public — we have no more information than anyone else on this — is troubling."
If tape recordings are destroyed, there will still be the testimony, under oath, of those who received phone calls. An independent inquiry needs to be set up to record testimonies, and a pattern should emerge. This has to be done as soon as possible. I actually think Canada needs international observers for this.
(For you Conservative sheep, being under oath means further punishment for committing perjury in a legal proceeding - or will you also try to compromise the integrity of such proceedings? Would you happen to believe in going to Hell for misdeeds?)
What does not compute is Harper's maniacal control over minute campaign details and the claim that the he knew nothing of this.
This link appeared in the cbc comments over election fraud and was removed ..I thought it was very interesting to say the least . Lots of info covering many degrees of infiltration by the US defence /conservative control and even election manipulation.
"CGI have contracts with Elections Canada, while partners with Harper and his gang and U.S. government and military, and are behind the push for online voting and will be "managing" it on behalf of Elections Canada when it's implemented... see more evidence below supporting Harper and his gang and CGI are unlawfully interfering with the results of our elections..."
At the very minimum, if just half the stuff is true it explains how Corporate media can't be trusted in the slightest and things may of reached a tipping point. Canada will only have this one time chance to stand up to the conservatives or lose their freedom totally.
Among those who used the American-based firm, Front Porch Strategies, in his own re-election bid was Peterborough, Ont., MP Dean Del Mastro, who is Harper's parliamentary secretary and has been the government's designated frontman in warding off questions over the robocall affair.
The quote below shows that Canada's P.M., in Parliament this past week, made a deliberate attempt to deceive by insinuating that none of the Conservative candidates used US calling firms.
It was so nearly a lie, but no, check the wording... he didn't use the word "ONLY" when claiming the Liberal Party's use of US calling firms, a cleverly crafted statement that gives the P.M. an out, despite the obvious insinuation that only the Liberals used US calling firms in the most recent federal election.
Does any Canadian, including those who voted conservative, really want a PM this cunning and self-serving, so willing to deceive, to be in charge of our military, to speak for Canada where Israel and Iran are concerned, and to make the decision to go to war or not? Or, indeed, to be our Prime Minister?
Q: Is a deliberate attempt to deceive, when made in Parliament, an act of treason, or otherwise illegal/"impeachable"?
Quote from CBC online:
The prime minister and his parliamentary secretary, Peter borough MP Dean Del Mastro, claimed in the Commons that the Liberals were the only party that used American calling firms. “We’ve done some checking,” the PM said, and “we’ve only found that it was the Liberal Party that did source its phone calls from the United States.”
But documents show 14 Conservative campaigns enlisted the telephone services of an Ohio company called Front Porch Strategies.
During the election, the company made thousands of calls into each of those Canadian ridings from its headquarters in Columbus.
In fact, Del Mastro’s own campaign used the American firm twice during his successful bid for re-election last year.
If tape recordings are destroyed, there will still be the testimony, under oath, of those who received phone calls. An independent inquiry needs to be set up to record testimonies, and a pattern should emerge. This has to be done as soon as possible. I actually think Canada needs international observers for this.

Re: the Conservative sheep
Fanatical followers of a leader are willing to sacrifice themselves in the name of the cause. I wouldn't be surprised if some Conservative operatives are willing to take a knife for King Harper and go to jail.

This is something the Opposition parties need to focus more on. In the past few elections, the Canadian public has been told by the press that Harper no longer has a hidden agenda and that it is wrong of the Liberals, NDP etc. to say so.
If there is evidence that Harper is allowing more and more American money and political influence from right-wing groups in the U.S. to influence elections in Canada, it might provide the Opposition with the ammunition to jolt the Canadian public out of its sleep and start paying attention to the fact that Harper does in fact have a hidden agenda and that Canadians need to come out and vote against the Cons next time to prevent it from happening.

And when is our Prime Minister going to come clean and stop lying to the Canadian public?
