babble is rabble.ca's discussion board but it's much more than that: it's an online community for folks who just won't shut up. It's a place to tell each other — and the world — what's up with our work and campaigns.
Mulcair represents the "New" in the New Democratic Party
And he represents the new membership. We are growing. We are absorbing Liberals, Greens, and others. Which we have to do to form government. But he does not have carte blanche to destroy what we have built, not that I think that is his plan. He just wants us to reach heights of success that even exceed our very successful last election results with Jack. And I think he can do it.
I have been saying that over and over. Fanned big time NR!
Topp definitely doesn't get a pass. Who's giving him a pass?
Topp's past work for Romanow, his writing on Greece and support for copyright legislation don't thrill me. But I appreciate the fact that Topp isn't going to attack or marginalize the activists to the left of him in the party. I know, it's a pretty low bar I'm setting here, but unfortunately, of the final two candidates, only one of them has shown in the past that they can meet it.
Doesn't matter what Mulcair believes anyways. He's fiercely defended party policy enough to attack other members who stray from it, so we should simply make sure that we push forward modern, pragmatic, and progressive policies that are being undertaken by some of our counterparts in Europe.
And please, if your candidate didn't win, don't quit/showboat your dismay about the party. That's a whole other post that I am too lazy to make.

Not sure how my post came up twice.

I hope this is what happens. It's the right thing to do. I hope Topp reaches right back.
Both these men have a lot to offer the party. As does Cullen. And Nash. And everyone.

Topp is still intent on winning this thing on the 5th ballot.
radiorahim says that the voting worked flawlessly for him this time around.
Soloman made a good point.
Hell has frozen over.
I assume you mean about the mandate.
