40,000 Sing Breivik A Song He Hates (and vid)

http://rt.com/news/protesters-sing-against-breivik-070/

"Forty thousand Norwegians flooded the streets of Oslo in the pouring rain to defy mass murderer Anders Breivik after he derided the popular children's song 'Children of the Rainbow' as a Marxist tool to brainwash children. The size of the crowd meant that an amazing one in fifteen of Oslo's 613,000 residents showed up to the rally. Reuters cites Christine Bar, one of the organizers who launched the event on Facebook as saying:

'We think it represents diversity, and it stands for the community we have chosen to live in - and which Breivik and similar people want to tear down.'

Slavoj Zizek, writing in the guardian in August last year, said of Breivik: 'He realizes the ultimate paradox of a Zionist Nazi - how is this possible?'

oh and 'bubble' instead of babble is very apt and funny..

Hi NDPP...

thanks.

IMO, Breivik isn't a white supremicist or a Nazi.  His fear is that once the Muslims out number the Norwegians, the Norwegians will be forced into Dhimmitude.  He has no problems with Muslims coming to Norway, giving up Islam and becoming culturally Norwegians.  So this isn't a race issue so much as a Norwegian cultural preservation issue.

"Stephen Yaxley - Nennon (aka Tommy Robinson), the leader of the EDL has recently dropped the faux mask of condemnation against the terrorist Anders Breivik and has explicitly praised Breivik and his actions..The most revealing statement of all is Yaxley-Lennon's claim that Breivik's mass murdering, terrorist attack would have been 'easier to justify' if the targets had been Muslims.."

If accurate, this CNN report is astounding.  If the prosecutors cannot get Breivik committed to an asylum, then the "prosecutors will ask for 21 years of prison for Breivik."

Just 21 years for killing over seventy people??

Sven I think in an earlier thread I jumped on that right wing talking point myself.  I found though that I like the CNN was wrong.  The determinate sentence is 21 years maximum.  He can still be held for the rest of his life in 5 year increments.

In Canada you get life with no chance of parole for 25 years but there is always a faint hope that a killer will be released.  In many cases where the crime is a crime of passion, not a mass murder for political reasons, after 21 or 25 years the murderer is no longer a threat to society.  If you are a murderer in Canada even if you get parole you never get off probation. the state will always have a right to be involved in overseeing your life.

In this thread 6079 corrected that right wing garbage in post 58 about 60 days ago.  CNN proves once again it is not a news agency but a propaganda machine.

On the last day of his trial, Anders Behring Breivik's defence lawyers on Friday tried to cast the confessed mass killer as a political militant motivated by an extreme right-wing ideology rather than a delusional madman who killed 77 people for the sake of killing.

Since Breivik has admitted to the bomb-and-gun attacks on July 22, the self-styled anti-Muslim militant's mental state has been the key focus of the 10-week trial.

Nevertheless, Breivik's defence lawyer Geir Lippestad requested that the 32-year-old Norwegian be acquitted or given the mildest possible prison term for the country's worst peacetime massacre. The plea for acquittal was made out of principle, without any realistic chance of success: Breivik claims he acted in defence of his nation and that the killings were therefore justified.

I think what it "proves" is that the reporter (and editor) were sloppy reporting on this story.

When it happens once it is sloppy reporting. When it is an ongoing and persistent problem it is propaganda. They have long been following the rule that a good corporate outlet should never let the facts get in the way of a good story.  The press in America is not free it was bought and paid for a long time ago. They are worse than most state media outlets around the world. I rank them on a par with Press TV.  They get some of the facts right but some wrong and they both conveniently leave out facts they don't think fit with the "story."

Anders Behring Breivik: Lone Nut or Sane, Connected Militant?  -   by Brit Dee

http://www.resistradio.com/news/anders-behring-breivik-lone-nut-or-sane-...

"...Defence lawyer Geir Lippestad today referenced the fact that others share his client's extreme political ideology, a point already proven by individuals such as the Jewish Defence League's Roberta Moore, who openly agreed with Breivik's beliefs, and, which more alarmingly, supported his murderous actions.

Regardless of whether the militant network Breivik claims to be part of really exists, there is no doubt that some do support his call to arms - a hugely worrying fact that has been consistently downplayed during the trial. In their determination to portray Breivik as 'mad', the prosecution has avoided a discussion of the very real problems in Europe - and the very real threat posed by extremist ultranationalists..."

Norwegian Mass Murderer Breivik Sentenced to 21 Years

http://www.countercurrents.org/shilton250812.htm

"...The ruling does not alter the fact that Breivik's trial was the culmination of an official cover-up set in motion the day of his arrest. The question of his sanity, which dominated the trial, was a diversion introduced to prevent an honest examination of what was clearly a politically motivated crime. There is every possibility that the shootings were carried out with the aid of far-right sympathisers across Europe..."

Breivik displays many similarities portrayed in the character 'Bloom' from Joyce's Ulysses, confusion or a foreignness to one's surroundings for instance, which in certain situations results in some form of outburst against the surrounding. Mass shootings which target people who look and behave similarly in their everyday life to the person shooting betray a similarity to Bloom as well. Such incidents are not entirely inexplicable as the media tells it.

Police Helped Carry Out Norway Attack?

Reportedly, Britt Borve, Oslo Police Department's Operation leader 'blocked' the anti-terror DELTA force from pursuing the bomber's care..."
