babble is rabble.ca's discussion board but it's much more than that: it's an online community for folks who just won't shut up. It's a place to tell each other — and the world — what's up with our work and campaigns.
I will always be a "Layton-lover" as opposed to a "Harper-harpie" - or a "Rae-rasper, Rae-elian? - but is it time to edit the Canadian Politics Forum description to reflect the new NDP leader. Mulcair-maniacs? Mulcair-meh? Thoughts? options?
Not to draw comparisons by any means, but Marx hasn't been with us for some time, and there are still Marxists kicking around, just as there are Layton lovers. Likewise, Harper seems intent on haunting us forever. The description of the forum seems apt to me.
I just wanted to say that I so appreciated that the name didn't change last year but I knew at some point someone would bring this up. I'm a sop but I find it comforting, and reminds me of our roots and breakthrough and also to mind how we treat one another....
No.
Layton's influence on Mulcair is obvious same with most if not all NDP MPs and even Ontario leader Andrea Horwath.
See Jack is dead, but his influence is still with us, the way he combined the the Quebec social democractic tradition with the NDP populist social democractic traditions into a new alliance which will vitalize everyone and will transformed this country in time is still very much alive.
I'm kind of partial to Mulcair Maniacs too but agree that now is not the time. Once we have had some time defending/criticizing a Mulcair goverment we may be ready to make the shift. For now, I'm happy to leave it as a Layton-loving happy-warrior.
Why not meld the news and the politics sections together.
Just leads to duplication and few if anyone distinguishes between the two; you get news in politics and politics in news -- would be easier to manage just one of the two.
Motivated Mulcairs or Maveric Mulcairs, might be an option on the name thing-- but I am quite happy to see Layton lovers stay-- no need to have it go away and it is still true...
no.
NO!
No.
Ashton-addicts? Dewar-dunces? Singh-Sings?
No,No,No.
Nope. *checks watch* Still no.
Cullen-cultists?
Race fans?

Re the OP, no, no and no. Though 'Cullen cultists' does have a certain ring to it ...
Raesins?
Fair enough, thought the question needed to be asked but the crowd has spoken.
NO

Jack will never die.
I am Jack, and I am hopeful that we will save Canada from rack and ruin.
Or at least Rack Nine.
so funny Steve and totally agree With Brachina and Fidel - be the Jack you want to be - he's in all of us.
Thanks for raising the question Steve - I always wanted to ask. But now we know :>
Mulcair Maniacs sounds good to me.

May as well ask here:

Mulcair has yet to pay his dues.
