Dalton's corruption grows more naked for all to see, he's trying to publicly bribe MPPs with much more secure high salary jobs. I've never seen out right bribing of politicians done so publically and without concern. Its like Dalton's contempt for voters is endless. I'm not shocked he'd do this, I'm shocked he'd do it in,a way that is so obviously buying public officials. I'm appalled at his conduct. http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/politics/article/1173415--liberals-co... If I was one of the opposition leaders I'd make it clear that any MPP that accepts such an,offer would be fired from the post, charged wiith corruption, forced to pay back all money gained from that position.  (emphasis GB)

Dalton's trying to publicly bribe MPPs?  Surely he has succeeded.  The reason for this thread is the fact that Elizabeth took the job.

Dalton has done us the favour of exposing corruption, not only in his government, but also in the opposition.  We don't need to make a saint out of her to see the devil in him.

How much do you want to bet that if the results in Etobicoke Centre are overturned and a federal by-election is called, then McGuinty will schedule the Kichener-Waterloo by-election around the same time?

Or the week after Etobicoke, on the theory that the Liberals cannot lose that by-election. Which is also a good reason for the Conservatives not to appeal and delay; suck it up and get it over with.

I doubt there will be much connection between the 2 ridings.

For one thing, Harper will delay as long as he can IF he is forced to call a by-election.  Remember, our system gives the ridiculous power to the Prime Minister to wait SIX MONTHS to call one.  As Ed Broadbent has said, by-elections in Canada should be called within 1 month as they are in Britain.  It's not right to leave a riding with no representation for half a year or more.
