Hello. I've noticed that when new topics are started, some long-time posters will leave the first post blank, and will start the thread in post #2. Is there some reason for this? Is this the proper etiquette for starting a new topic thread?
Don't listen to bagkitty. The real reason the first post is left blank because if you actually do post something there, you'll get a pie in the face from your computer when you least expect it.
it's part of a new chrome/firefox feature that drunk-proofs your posts. those profanity-laced tirades against alberta? POOF! gone. the next morning, it's like it never happened.
Mark, the first post cannot be edited (system quirk), so even something a simple as a misspelling cannot be corrected.

Got it. So to be able to edit the post later and avoid pies in the face, it's best to start the thread in the second post.
Thanks.
Now you get it!
