"Prisoners Mahmoud Sarsak and Akram Rikhawi are still on hunger strike, the Egyptian daily Al-Ahram cited an official from the Palestinian Prisoners' Club as saing on Thursday. According to Israeli sources, Sarsak embarked on a hunger strike on April 4 and is demanding to be recognized as a prisoner of war. Rikhawi is protesting against his detention without charge, under an  administrative imprisonment order issued by a military court, which allows detention without trial for renewable periods of six months..."

"A Palestinian prisoner died in an Israeli jail on Saturday, officials said, as the number of inmates on hunger strike climbed to 11, according to the Palestinian Prisners Club. Arafat Jaradat was 'arrested a few days ago. He was killed during the investigation,' the Palestinian minister in charge of prisoner affairs Issa Qaraqaa told AFP.

'We demand the creation of an international commission of inquiry to probe the circumstances of his death,' Qaraqaa said."

At a news conference in Ramallah, Issa Qaraqe said an autopsy of conducted in Israel in the presence of Palestinian officials revealed that 30-year old Jaradat had six broken bones in his neck, spine and legs.
