I do not think it is just Republicans, last night of CBC's The National, they had some US female journalist on detailing how Obama would never become President because of his wife Michelle.
She said US American "culture" was not ready yet to have a strong black woman in the White House.
It seems the CBC is truly a propaganda machine for the Cons these days, I was appalled at their undertaking such a racist and sexist commentary against her.

I gave up watching the CBC news quite sometime ago but every once in awhile I end up watching it. I saw the show last night and couldn't believe what I was hearing. This woman was an apologist for extremely nasty racism and she was invited on to spew it and was not challenged on its content.
The CBC's mandate is clearly to become a right wing channel like all the others because they have to emulate the private sector just as Carole Taylor and other past Presidents have ordered.
