According to [url=http://www.tribute.ca/movies/BoxOffice.asp?id=16591]Tribute magazine[/url] Ben Stein's anti-science flick 'Expelled' grossed a whopping $24,374 this past weekend (it opened on Friday).

Per screen average is a better stat....
That said, I doubt this will compete with Jaws or '10' for biggest summer blockbuster of all time.

I'd not heard of the movie, but it would appear that Ben Stein is building on his core competence, namely, Being Stupid. His business columns in the NYT are routinely ridiculed in the economics blogosphere, yet he somehow manages to retain a very valuable piece of media real estate. And now he's managed to get people to spend lots of money to make a movie.
