Does this bring us back to MacDonald-Detwiler ?
I thought their expertise was satellite imagery, with GIS (geographic information systems) being one of their primary markets. (besides the US military)

I remember the ex-PM and now Palm Beach resident, Lyin' Brian drooling about the "billions of barrels of oil" up there, even while lamenting the fate of the bears, the night he was feted as Canada's Greenest Prime Minister".
Elizabeth May had run out of superlatives but was still able to smile her approval.
John Diefenbaker, proponent of "opening the north", or some such slogan, got elected partly on his "vision".

although, i hear that at least in the nwt, the people at the territory' geomatics centre are already fairly sophisticated at this sort of thing.
