I just watch the USS Forrestal incident on the history Channel not more than 20 minutes ago. They laid out a different set of events.
The rocket was launch by a static charge off another aircraft, the rocket did hit McCain’s aircraft.
I believe McCain was a F4 pilot and not an A4 pilot.
The show is called “Shockwave”
I am not sure about his time at the Naval academy.
I'll have to look into it further, maybe the History Channel's version is revisionism?
There's other stuff at that anti-McCain group, including about his 'POW' story - this may be all a bunch of BS, I have no idea.
I just did a quick search, most sites list 134 dead.
And I was wrong McCain was an A4 pilot.

Most likely, and it would not be the first time Discovery and the History Channel have been used to invent history!
And McCain did fly a A4E Skyhawk.

If someone can produce even one of those nearly three dozen propaganda videos staring McCain, then I'll look into it further. Until then, it's total BS.
I went back to that FB group with the intent of asking the Administrator to explain where the story originated - and, surpise! - there's no Administrator. I've reported this group to the FB authorities.
Boom boom below is apparently the original story that your quotes, or some of them are from, about McCain as POW, it is by a news media outlet in Newark OH. And there does not appear to be any law suits against them that I can find on google.
