Harper and Gang

Word on the Ranch in Alberta Land is that good old Steven and gang figured they would not be able to get a budget through no matter what they did. The fix was in. Jack and Gil had already made the deal. So the plan was hatch to take away jack, gil and dion's cash thus pushing these unwitting fools to jumb into bed with each other. Since these 3 still need a map to find western Canada they had no idea of the backlash that would hit them in the face. Steven and Gang did! In one backhand ,smashed the Liberals, made a fool of Dion and other leaders, and skyrocketed in the polls. Not bads for a few minutes work.

Red T-shirt

Yah, right. Stevies a frickin genius. It was all pre-planned and executed to perfection. That must be why we hear all the reports about him throwing fits, leaving parties early, trying to blame his staff, looking as though he didn't sleep for a week etc.

Dream on and just like Steve, don't let any facts get in the way of your story (no Canadian flags at the signing ceremony indeed).

Bookish Agrarian

Anyone following the CWB story since this government was first elected saw a preview of the lengths Harper will go to undermine democracy.  His ham-fisted attempts to destroy democracy for farmers will have tipped off anyone paying attention that Harper would stoop to any level.  So it was smart of the leaders of other parties to start thinking about ways to take Canada back.

I would have thought it was obvious that Harper had no intention of winning opposition support for a financial proposal that included bankrupting the opposition parties and stripping pay equity rights from federal employees. He was daring the opposition to defeat him and force an election, which he was sure would give him a majority.

What he didn't count on was the opposition deciding to form a jury-rigged Koalition to replace him. Still, that has turned out to be an unanticipated bonus for Harper, as the Koalition has stumbled badly from the gate.

Perhaps you were hoping I had stopped using an annoying tag line. You were wrong; you're reading it now. Why not email a moderator to demand that signature/tag lines be abolished forthwith?

This is not a military koup in the same vein as that KIA-backed one in Khile on 9/11/73. The Kanadian Koalition of Kommunist and Kuebecker parliamentarians are simply eksploiting the pre-existing rules laid out by our obsolete 19th kcentury elektrical demockracy. If the Harpers want to bully the 62% majority with his own phony-baloney minority, then he's got to play the game his bad self. As much as the Harpers would like us to believe is the kase, this isn't the USSA where we vote for all of two khoices for kosmetic leader. In the Northern Puerto Rico, Kanadians vote for all of two kchoices for parties forming government. So where are the Harpers hiding out over the ekstended holidays? Bavaria? Eagle's nest? Switzerland?
