So how much oil does it take to manufacture and who will be paying for these? It seems like a great way to channel "development" money to a Munich-based patent holder.
I'm always suspicious of rich, white men from Europe inventing "better ways" for women in Africa to do their work. It looks cool to me but then I'm not all that different from a rich, white man from Europe.

Actually, this is pretty clever. I see some commenters saying "drag it behind a horse" and such. Thing is (and I didn't know anything like this until I found my fancy new front loader washer misbehaving) there's an ideal "fall" for clothes in a drum like this. You want them to kind of go up, like they're going around a clock, 6-7-8-9-10-11-12-1 and then drop somewhere between 1 o'clock and 2 o'clock, for maximum cleaning power. It's the clothes falling into the water from the top of the drum that gets the clean happening.
Drag this behind a horse and all you'll do is centrifuge your clothes.

Personally kinda like the innovation, that they targeted it towards those who have other needs, other than lowering their carbon foot print, and exercise, like clean water to drink and food, is troubling.
People who are serious about conserving hydro would use it, I know we certainly would.
