Police Rights In Canada?

You know I'm familiar as I suspect are most Canadian with respect to your rights if you're stopped or arressted by the police in the US, mostly because of what's presented in the American MSM. What are our rights here in Canada in regards to questioning/arrest ? Sorry if this may seem too basic for some but I'm new at this. Does one have the right to remain silent? The right to legal representation during questioning? What information are you required to give? Etc. Etc. Not that I see myself being arrested any time soon but I guess it would be good to know anyway.

Here is a general guideline. I'm not sure how up to date it is.

For case-specific questions it's a good idea to talk to a lawyer. You can call the Law Society in your province and ask for the lawyer referral service telephone number. This will allow you to speak to a lawyer for up to half an hour for a small charge on your phone bill.
