Nethanyahu will be in Toronto to "kick off" the Walk With Israel by giving a speech at 10 am at the CNE Direct Energy Centre.

This could get interesting.

Hopefully some one 'kicks off' him

PLEASE TELL EVERYONE TO COME!!!

I suspect that security will be tight. And folks let's not get into "Concordia"  territory where Netanyahu's right to speak was shut down last time. We run the risk of rightly being labeled as censors if we act like bullies and facists.

Yea, why protest a War Criminal? I'm sure he puts his pants on one leg at a time.

Quote:
WARRANT

for the arrest of BENJAMIN NETANYAHU, former Prime Minister of Israel; on the charges of crimes against humanity and crimes of war.

This warrant, dated September 9, 2002, permits the immediate arrest of Benjamin Netanyahu, former Prime Minister of Israel, on the charges of crimes against humanity and crimes of war.

According to verified sources, Mr. Netanyahu will be in Montreal on September 9, 2002, and will be in the vicinity of the Hall Building at Concordia University between 10am to 3pm.

Mr. Netanyahu is to be arrested on sight by either competent authorities or ordinary citizens and residents.

Canada's own war crimes legislation authorizes the arrest and trial of war criminals for offenses committed outside the country. As Prime Minister of Israel between 1996-99, and as an official of the Israeli government, Mr. Netanyahu is alleged to have committed -- or to have been directly complicit in -- gross abuses of human rights in the Palestinian occupied territories and the state of Israel. These crimes are tantamount to crimes against humanity and crimes of war, under widely recognized and internationally accepted definitions of both the Government of Canada, as well as the United Nations.

Mr. Netanyahu's alleged crimes include:

* Authorizing extra-judicial executions throughout his term as Prime Minister.

* Authorizing the torture of over approximately 2500 Palestinians in Israeli jails, leading to the deaths of several detainees and injury to many more. The International Convention against Torture -- ratified by the state of Israel -- as well as the Convention on Civil and Political Rights explicitly prohibit torture under any circumstances.

* Authorizing over 249 house demolitions in the occupied territories -- unequivocally prohibited by the 4th Geneva Convention -- constituting a war crime in the form of collective punishment.

* Authorizing the construction of 6500 settlement-housing units in the occupied territories -- in contravention of several United Nations Security Council resolutions as well as Article 49 of the 4th Geneva Convention -- and increasing the number of illegal settlers in the Palestinian occupied territories by 9%.

* Authorizing the deadly and disproportionate use of force in September 1996 against unarmed demonstrators protesting his order to blast a tunnel under Al-Haram Al-Sharif (Temple Mount).

All of the above-cited crimes are documented and verifiable, by both eyewitness and expert testimony.

Upon arrest, Mr. Netanyahu is entitled to competent legal counsel and due process. He is also entitled to a fair and impartial trial.

Legal authorities in Canada -- the federal and provincial governments and their respective law enforcement agencies -- are bound to uphold this warrant by virtue of federal statutes. Failure to do so constitutes gross neglect of duty and is criminally punishable.

Those who obstruct or impede the arrest of Mr. Netanyahu, or the implementation of this warrant, are guilty of "aiding and abetting" which is a criminal offense.

This warrant is issued in the genuine interest of ending the crimes of occupation in the Palestinian territories and the state of Israel, in a spirit of solidarity with the courageous resistance and intifada of the Palestinian people, and with the aim of achieving a just peace between the peoples of the Middle East.

I'm sure that all the same people who cheered when Galloway was kept out of the country will be bleating and whining about Netanyahu's "right to speak".

They keep a British parliamentarian out for delivering aid to a starved and terrorized people, but let in a war criminal to speak.

Is there any information on demonstrations planned? If so please post. Surely people appreciate the necessity of a large protest against this Zionist war criminal ? Callouts? Plans?

Hopefully Olivia Chow won't be attending the Walk for Israel this year.

i guess we cant protest inside the CNE ground since it is private property , right

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is kicking off United Jewish Appeal annual Walk with Israel on Sunday, May 30th. He will be delivering a live address at the CNE Direct Energy Center . A coalition of community and human rights organizations is calling on all to protest the representative of Apartheid Israel coming to whitewash Israeli human rights violations against the Palestinian people.

Exact location for the protest will be announced shortly (we will be meeting at 9:00 am).

For now - please support us in spreading the word and posting this callout as far and wide as possible.

As we mark 62 years of Nakba, the ethnic cleansing of Palestine in 1948 when more than 750,000 indigenous Palestinians were expelled and 500 villages destroyed, we will be protesting the ongoing Nakba that war criminal Netanyahu is overseeing. We will protest the ongoing colonization of Palestine , the military occupation, the settlement expansion, the apartheid wall and the brutal siege of Gaza .

Unfortunately, representatives of a state that carries out blatant apartheid policies are being welcomed in Canada and supported by the Harper government. We will be protesting to also send a clear message to Harper that his government's uncritical support for Israel must stop.

Spread the word - save the date - and come out to protest the Prime Minister of Apartheid Israel .

B'nai Brith Canada welcomes Israeli PM Netanyahu to Canada with national campaign commending PM Harper and calling for undivided Jerusalem

TORONTO, May 28, 2010 - B'nai Brith Canada has launched a national campaign to welcome the visit to Canada of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The Jewish advocacy organization will be publishing full-page national advertisements both thanking Prime Minister Stephen Harper for his support for Israel, and calling on Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to ensure that Jerusalem remains the eternal undivided capital of the Jewish State.

"We decided to launch this campaign in order to welcome the Israeli Prime Minister to Canada and to commend the Harper Government for its principled and determined leadership of the Middle East file," said Frank Dimant, B'nai Brith Canada's Executive Vice President. "Canada and Israel are two democratic allies which in addition to standing together against the forces of Radical Islam, enjoy independent judiciaries, equality for all their citizens, a free press, and open elections.

"In light of all of the pressure being applied by the Obama Administration on PM Netanyahu to make concessions to the divided and uncompromising Palestinian factions, we felt it was crucial to include in our media campaign support for the position of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu that Jerusalem - the historic, political and spiritual capital of the Jewish people - remain the eternal and undivided capital of the Jewish State of Israel. The Israeli Prime Minister will be heading to a meeting with President Obama right after his trip to Canada, so it is important that he understands that his position for a united Jerusalem is supported by Jews around the world."

Oh, and blocking my account just because I express a different opinion is balanced, right? So enlightened of you.

Well, now I know not to expect to have a chance to reply (probably this account will be blocked too).  Keep up the good work of supporting human rights.

Yes, in the struggle that goes on in the middle east Israel has performed actions that I don't agree with.  Are they worse than actions performed by other nations in war?  I don't think so.  How many civilians were killed by allies bombings during WWII? How many were killed in Iraq and Afghanistan?  How many civilians were killed from both sides in the Iran-Iraq war in the 80's?

Is Israel opressing Palestinians as part of this truggle? Yes, I agree.  Does it take worse actions than Arab regimes take against their own peoples? No!!!  In Saudi Arabia thieves hands are cut off, and people are executed for infidelity.  In Iran women are forced to ware burkas, or be stoned to death.  And the list is long.

Israel and the palestinians (with other supporting Arab nations and terrorist organizations) are in war that lasts for the past 62 years.  In war innocent get killed, wounded and tortured.  From both sides!!!  This will continue until the war will be over.

Until this day no pelastinian leader acknowledged Isarel's right to exist.  So what is the solution in your opinion?  Kill all Israelis? That would be just?  That would maintain human rights and eliminate war crimes?  Or do you prefer that all Israelis will immigrate to Canada as a solution to this conflict?

What would you do if you were the Israeli PM?  Try to answer this question honestly.  Or is it easier to go with the current and just hate Israel without understanding what the conflict is about.

P.S  If my account will remain active I will gladly continue the discussion, or should I say start it Undecided
