[About 15] feminist activists participating in the World Women's March occupied the [Montréal] office of Minister Christine Saint-Pierre Thursday to force a response to their demands to reduce women's poverty. [...]Besides raising the minimum wage, the occupiers are demanding the abolishment of social assistance "categories"; a specific sex education program aimed at ending the "commodification of women's bodies"; and a law banning sexist advertising.
They are also demanding that Ottawa withdraw Canadian troops from Afghanistan as well as a guarantee of the right to abortion.

Police were called Thursday night to break up a group occupying the offices of the Minister for the Status of Women.
50 people occupied the office in the afternoon while others protested outside.
Police moved in when the women refused to leave long after the business day was over, arresting nine people.
