Are the Als headed to another Grey Cup or what eh..................................

+_+

The Als might be in the Grey Cup, but I doubt if the opposition will be wearing green this time.

DaveW

wacky game, wacky ending... CFL at its entertaining best

NorthReport

Amazin', truly amazin'

I just cannot believe what I saw in the last 2 minutes of the game last nite. When I started watching it was 30-23 for the Argonauts, and the rest as they say is history.

Cdn football is sooooo..... much better entertainment than the NFL. Smile

Oi.  I can't take this kind of tension for much longer.  On to Calgary and Joffrey Reynolds.

At last week's game at Taylor Field ( I forgot to mention this earlier), a "V" of Canada Geese flew over while the national anthem was playing.

That beats fighter jets any day.

Lions lose again...against Buffalo!?   ...Go Als!

DaveW

go Argos....

jrootham

AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGOOOOOOSSSS!

DaveW

A.: uh, at the half, probably ....

al-Qa'bong

Oh boy.  Maybe once the next week is over my chest palpitations will stop.

Pogo Pogo's picture

I hear the Riders are asking for an extra player to make the odds even.

jrootham

Adding a player would to a 1 mod 2 number would indeed make it 0 mod 2.

Good call.   Wink

Regardless of the unfairness about the way they are being treated, the Als are going to crush, did I say pulverize, the Roughriders tomorrow.

Go Als!

Yeah, sometimes we Saskavites take our "There's always next year" attitude too far.  Mind you, they were on a four-game losing streak when I wrote that.

I'm worried about which Rider team will show up tomorrow.  They're a pretty inconsistent bunch.  The Als, on the other hand, play a steady, unruffled game, although on occasion they have been blown out this year in huge upsets.

NorthReport

I actually don't care who wins. Hopefully the team that plays the best tomorrow, wins tomorrow. Enjoy the game.

I just heard René on the Métis show on CFCR recite this:

Quote:

Our quarterback who art in Edmonton

Darian be thy name,

Thy game be done.
Thy will be won in Commonwealth as it was in Mosaic.

Give us this game, the
Grey Cup game & forget about Calgary's whiners...

As we forgive those who can't measure up to us.

Lead is not into interception

But deliver us from Calvillo.

For thine are our Riders with power & glory.

Forever & ever.

Amen!

Then he played this:

...which sound suspiciously like Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit in the Sky."

OK, it ain't the "Red River Jig," but I like it.

NorthReport

That's wonderful - thanks for this. Smile

al-Qa'bong

Well, there's always next year.

Who's rioting in Montreal tonight? I'm in town, so let's go burn something!

Caissa

The desired result. The human side of the story is Calvillo now faces surgery for a lesion on his thyroid. Tests have been inconclusive as to whether or not it is malignant. His wife had cancer two years ago.

In the past 15 years how many time have the Als been in the Grey Cup, and how many times have the Als won?

I missed the game as I was visiting my sister.  Hopefully there is some sort of injustice we can make the scapegoat for our loss.

Caissa

Yeah, your Qb failing to throw a key pass out of bounds with 55 secs left.

Pogo Pogo's picture

Darn, I kind of liked him.  Do you know who is collecting for the manure delivery?

al-Qa'bong

Are you kidding?  Durant fought like a wild animal to avoid the sack, broke free, and then was wrapped up again as he tried throwing out of bounds.  He and the team went down fighting.

I don't know; a four-point difference over two Grey Cup games?  This could just as easily be a Rider two-year dynasty.

Caissa

Yes, I was kidding, Al-Q. I wish the Riders well any year the Als are not in the Grey Cup.

NorthReport

Thanks bekayne.

I agree with bong, the Roughriders could just as easily had won both gaames.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders' Ken Miller is stepping down as head coach but will continue to have a role with the team.

The 69-year-old announced Thursday he's leaving the top coaching job following three seasons with the Regina-based Canadian Football League team, two of them that took the Riders to the Grey Cup.
