I'm looking to support a family in need, but would prefer to do it through a non-religous affiliated organization, most seem to be heavily tied to church organizations, any thoughts on who I might be able to do this through, which ones would you support and why?

If you googel 211 Toronto you will come across a listing of all the non-profit social service agencies in T.O. you can find one that you thnk fits your criteria.
