Dogma. Would that phrase be okay if I applied it to a poster who was spouting Randian ideals on babble? I'm pretty certain it would be, and I'd be just as likely to. Again, no reference to left or right, simply that NS had a position and would not listen to the other side of the argument - instead, imputing a lot of crap to me that I never said. Consequently, they were not at all in the same tenor as what NS said.

You are incapable of doing any wrong and all others in a debate are wrong by definition. Did I get your meaning clearly enough? Below is the post you first responded too that I posted before the walk was held.

Explain will you where I did anything but suggest places other than the ones in the Star article and also suggest that other people need to attend this walk. As you point out it was designed to attract more people and be somewhat fluid and going with the flow of the people who show up. You obviously didn't like my tone but frankly my words were neither dogmatic nor implied some sort of pecking order. The post does show that I too was duped by the MSM.

I may have implied you were a capitalist tool and I apologize for my retaliatory comments. I note that you also totally ignored my attempt at reconciliation with the organizers and chose to blame me for developing a flame war. I responded to their arrogance and you jumped in on their side. I actually have fairly nuanced views on most issues try reading all my posts in a thread and getting a sense of their meaning from their totality not on a pick and chose basis.

"Pecking orders and purity tests. Very socialist of you all. " That is classic red baiting just so you know for future reference.

NorthernShoveler]

So will they be going to the sites of the recorded police violence or just to the place where the bait car was burnt and the anti-union Starbucks where the windows where broken?

Will they visit the staging grounds and relive the Cossack style charge of the TO horse back police? How about the famous bubble arrest is that on the tour? How about the charge and baton kissing given the protestors singing Oh Canada in the streets. Those are the images seared in my kind.

Seriously if this is only going to highlight the property damage then could some activists in TO please upstage them and remind the media of the real story.

[quote wrote:

I'm actually interested in you telling us what actually happened on the walk. What do you say?

Indeed. So am I.

Thank you for the apology.

I am often wrong. When I am shown to be wrong, I generally cop to it and offer an apology. I have done so on this board many, many times in the last (close to) decade.

The comments that I was referring to were the ones where you attributed a lot of right wing thinking and belief to me that I had not expressed in this thread, have never on this board in any other thread, and simply do not hold. I don't know where you got them from, but I was attempting to base my criticism of yourself and Le T on what was actually said. You may disagree with my reading of them and rebut (as Le T already has), but it's not being pulled out of the ether.

I think you were being a little dogmatic and you were hostile toward the organizers. Come on, look at the start of the thread - how do you come into this all sunshine and sweetness when you've already been dissed? They're trying to actually go out and do something and people are already down on them. I don't think they were given a fair shake.

And I have read your posts in other threads and I don't consistently disagree with you. I do on this one, though.

I prefer to shake hands and agree to disagree anytime. After all I like to think of myself as a pacifist. It seems we share some things in common including the fact that we will defend ourselves. I thought they were originally dissed without good reason since we were duped. However I know a lot of organizers from various community groups and few of them have the kind of chip on their shoulder that would have led to the posts we got in response.

I held them to the standard I expect of the allies I work with and the tweet comment I really found offensive. Not only do I not like tweets I consider them to be the lowest form of political discourse. A link to a blog or a brief summary or ignoring us would all have been appropriate. I personally found them rude and obnoxious and eventually responded intemperately because of that perception.

What he said was that he was sitting in his home until he heard that the Starbucks was under attack (those crazy anarchists could have been murdering the workers or something, right?) when he went down and determined that low and behold there was no violence he went back to his home to sit out the rest of the day in, oh i don't know, his armchair.

Did I say that? Huh. I don't remember saying that. Course I was sitting in my armchair the whole weekend. That's how I took all these pictures:

Le T, you're the worst type of person. Honestly. Eww.

Hey, Union Stayshyn, cool pics. Le T's not a bad dude, the MSM unfortunately created a narrative that got off to a bad start. I hope you'll reconsider your feelings of your allies. Word in print is always lost of delivery and context.

Thanks for sharing those pics and onward we struggle.

No ally of mine belittles the contributions of others while positioning himself as the arbiter of political credibility.

He's a bully.

Bye!

I presume from your posts and attitude that you must have few allies.

I and others got duped by the MSM and we tried to get clarification from you and so far all we have got is self righteous anger. Have a nice life.

Look Union Stayshun, I gave you the benefit of the doubt and said nothing about your comment that trashing someone's livelihood isn't real violence, even though belittles me as a someone who owns a shop, and I know you are completely off-base on that point. Besides, we talked it to death last summer.

I am sort of interested in what you have to say despite that, so can we chill out a bit, please?

So when I saw a tweet during the G20 about someone trying to start it on fire I thought about those workers and the people who live above the store so I rushed out to see what I could do.

When I arrived a young guy was harmlessly tossing out water bottles. No problem - it's property not people. I shrugged it off and returned home.

That's you saying it right there. The armchair remark was simply me calling you on your personal attack bullshit, which you continue.
