The trial of a Fredericton police officer charged with assault was adjourned temporarily Wednesday morning just as witnesses for the defence were to be called.
Crown Prosecutor Gabriel Bourgeois asked for the adjournment until later in the day, saying "certain issues have come up that are of a serious nature and some decisions have to be made."
Defence lawyer T.J. Burke then dismissed the paramedic and the doorman who were scheduled to testify Wednesday.
Court is scheduled to reconvene Wednesday afternoon.
