Tarpley is in my observations one of the best analysts out there of global trends, in particular the ongoing collapse of the neocolonial model of world governance. He will however be offensive to some of the enablers of imperialism on this site who think the Arab spring is 100% organic. I copy and paste the opening pararaphs of his latest essay.

In his view the US is currently fighting 5 wars: Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, and Yemen. Each may see escalation, and we are also likely to see war with Lebanon, Iran and Syria soon, and possibly Saudi Arabia.

Also on alert, reportedly for September or October, are the heavy armored units of the First Cavalry Division, currently located in Iraq and Afghanistan, along with other components of the US III Corps at various US bases. Observers point out that US Special Forces have been in Libya since February at the latest. They also note that, while the Libyan destination is highly plausible, some of these units may also find themselves on the way to Yemen, Syria, Iran, or beyond. At the same time, the Russian Foreign Ministry was denouncing the presence of the US Aegis cruiser Monterrey in the Black Sea. The amphibious assault ship USS Bataan and its task force are presently off the coast of Syria. One very plausible explanation for these deployments might be that a US attack on Syria, under the pretext of protecting civilians, is imminent.

Well, I've been noticing the gulf between Assad's repeated references to armed foreign agents operating inside Syria - and the western media's glaring avoidance of the subject. We're all thoroughly informed as to the brutal m.o. of the various security agencies and the body counts resulting from their earnest efforts but nowhere have I seen any attempt to get to the bottom of the claims of the Syrian state, that it is under assault. The MSM just aren't going there, and for me that is telling.

And this is the new thread that insults those who are actually being killed fighting the empire, and not just orbiting around their computer monitors exciting themselves with their conspiracy fetishes.
