Very gutsy public denunciation by Dan Murphy, 25-year veteran cartoonist at the Vancouver Province:

Quote:

Dan Murphy, of the Vancouver Province, created an animated parody targeting Enbridge Inc. and the potential environmental impact of its proposed multi-billion-dollar Northern Gateway pipeline proposal that would cross B.C. and Alberta. [...]

The parody was taken down and Murphy says he was given a blunt message by Vancouver Province editor Wayne Moriarity.

"'If it doesn't come down, Enbridge says they're pulling a million dollars worth of advertising from Postmedia, and if it doesn't come down, I, Wayne Moriarty, I'm going to lose my job,’” Murphy said Moriarity told him.

Here's the animated cartoon:

Thread drift: CBC and CTV have been running a hell of a lot of commercials from CAPP and other oil lobbyists/propagandists especially during the suppertime/early evening hours. Trying to sway the population, no doubt, to be more accepting of the Northern Gateway among other projects.

Great parody...i saw a kid at my workplace watching the video on reddit. He thought it was funny. These are the kind of things that really hurt the PR of the oil companies.

...and the credibility of PostMedia, when the public interest is subsidiary to the bottom line.
