Well Arthur, Trudeau would have to actually have to talk about "vision" (his vision) for Canada, and his ideas about policy in different areas of national importance. That's the problem with a "crowned prince" and he will actually have to get some gravus, which so far he has under his belt "many speaking dates talking to high school students about youth empowerment" but he doesn't have anything of his own "empowerment" to show for it (thus empty platitudes) and one recent boxing match.

Mark my word, the Cons want him as leader as an easy mark and to suck some vote from the NDP. For us, it depends "what he runs on" - is he another pretend lib progressive. Personally I have no read idea where he stands on issues because beyond his silly twitter feed, he is just a carature.

Actually, Jan, if you want to be an objective political analyst, you need to acknowledge that Justin Trudeau has some good political skills and knows how to campaign.  That's how he got elected twice in Quebec, in difficult circumstances.  Once against an incumbent Bloc MP, and then in an election in which almost 60 ridings went NDP and very few Quebec incumbents survived.  Even giants like Duceppe were toppled.

Justin has enormous potential down the road, but I don't disagree with you that he is inexperienced and needs several more years in Parliament before he runs for leader.

I  am disappointed in the NDP.they promised to reply to Tory attack ads. Where is ther response? The impending cabinet shuffle would be a great opportunity. Why not make an internet ad that would" respectfully" suggest that other cabinet members should be demoted. Then list Clement,Mackay and the other cabinet ministers who have done goofball acts The ad would be cheap and it would be covered in the media.

There's no hurry. It doesn't seem as though the Conservative ads are very effective. I also don't think that the NDP getting negative itself in its advertising is a good idea. It's not as if everyone isn't aware of everything the Conservatives have been doing. What they aren't aware of is how the NDP plan to do better.

Ford <- CON 77%, GRN 39%, OTH 36%, LIB 23%, NDP 11%

I find it amusing that Green Voters Prefer Mayor Rob Ford are the 2nd largest contingent next to the Conservatives themselves.... Laughing

It's no surprise to me. Both the Greens and Ford appeal to the politically alienated, even if they do it different ways.

Actually "campaigning" on a prominent recognizable name is so much easier than for the normal joe and mary candidate. Others often have to create their own name recognition which means being involved in lower level politics and doing things that benefit the community, whatever the target community is.

Justin, has not done anything of importance and nor pronounced anything in policy. It will take more than a couple of years for him to become a "leader". Unless one just wants a pretty face who has a tendency to mock others. And yeah, I have seen him be petty and small minded, and by extension a big hypercrit.

This is why I don't like you "...Actually, Jan, if you want to be an objective political analyst...". Do you really think that is how you conduct intelligent conversation and "debate" with someone? You said you were a lawyer, right? Do you tell the Judge when he/she doesn't agree with you, "well your honour, if you want to be fair here, you need to be objective and realize that I am right"?

You once accused me of acting like a "frat-boy". I wonder if you think that is wise way to speak to people. Frat boys, my friend, do not voluntarily sign up for military service, they are too busy taking. To say that I didn't like your comment would be an understatement. And frankly, as a retired Vet, by implication, your "insult" was exactly that, and out-of-line.

If you want anyone to take you seriously at all here, I suggest you think hard about treating people with a little bit more respect. And when you try to come back with your usual argument, "well Art, you do it too". Don't even bother.

Smarten up. Oh, and by the way, YOU owe Jan an apology.
