Hi, I live in the US. I am in strong support of Idle No More. I believe that this movement has been a long time coming and I welcome it with open arms and a Soul ready to participate fully.
I want to thank the four strong women Founders...Sheelah McLean, Nina Wilson, Sylvia McAdam Saysewahum, and Jessica Gordon...all truly modern day Okicitaws,(Warrior Women of the original Treaty times). You Have helped to spark a fire that is burning brightly and will not go out any time soon.
I want to thank Chief Theresa Spence, Raymond Robinson, Emil Bell, and Wilson Hartie for their Strength, and their Love for People and Mother Earth.
I want to thank Pam Palmater and Sheila North Wilson for all they are doing. Two strong young women who are working hard every day to support this cause.
I want to thank all the Chiefs of Canada for their contributions towards taking back what is trying to be stolen.
I want to thank ALL People of ALL Nations that are supporting Idle No More. We are all in this together, and I believe that Idle No More is MotherEarth's best hope right now
I want generations ahead to be able to have a healthy Earth to live on. I want the plants, animals, water and air to be healthy. I have wanted this all my life, but what I have seen is a slow degradation of our resources and unhealthy land management practices. My Soul cries for what has been lost already. I have done what I can in my own space to preserve Mother Earth in a Good Way.
As a non Native, I realize that my ancestors were part of the problems. This weighs heavily on my shoulders. I wish so much that I could change the past. But I can't and all I can do is to operate in a Good Way now while I am here.
Right now, I am doing all I can to support this cause and spread the word of these extremely important issues to my fellow non Natives. I have attended Flash Mobs and rallies. I am frustrated with the US media in their silence on reporting anything about Idle No More. i was able to secure one interview with a local radio show, but my attempts with US TV have been underwhelming. I have held a Teach In that no non Natives showed up for, but that has not discouraged me. I will hold another and will make sure that again I do it in a Good Way, inviting local Native People to participate.
I find that this cause is all-consuming for me. My Soul is vibrating and I am driven to put myself "out there" in ways I never have. Case in point....Facebook/Twitter/Rabble. And as much as I am doing, I feel it is not enough.
We CAN NOT LET C-45 AND OTHER ASSOCIATED BILLS BE IMPLEMENTED! They violate UN sanctions, affect Indigenous Sovereignty and Rights, are harmful to Land, Sacred Places, Animals, Water, and People.
To any Idigenous person reading this know that I offer out my help in whatever way i can to stop this imminent destruction from happening. I am non Native in Solidarity with Idle No More!
